The problem of same sex orientation has existed since antiquity and continues to interfere with the lives of many people now. People with the same sex orientation claim to be more enthusiastic about love than heterosexuals and question what is wrong with human affection. Additionally, they assert that this is God’s internal plan. The Christians who work in full-time ministry must be aware of the same-sex issue and must understand what the Bible says about same-sex relationships. We will endeavor to stop their immoral behavior.

One of the most precious things that God has bestowed upon humanity is love. Furthermore, according to the Bible, God is love. The most enjoyable aspect of life is love, which also enables us to walk side by side with God. Love, despite being such a significant concept, is sometimes misunderstood. Amnon, the son of David, fell in love with his sister Tamar, which was also a severe abuse of love. Advocates for same-sex relationships underline that while it is a form of human love, it is not the genuine love that God has given us.

As was already noted, it’s crucial to remember when counselling those who accept same-sex that it’s crucial to first comprehend their predicament and then carefully consider how they can escape it. It’s crucial that we first examine how God made humankind. We must make sure they know that God made them and us for His glory. God made it abundantly obvious that only a man and a woman should be able to fall in love and get married when He created the first humans, Adam and Eve (Gen.2:24).

All altered and everything that God detested happened to humans once Adam and Eve disobeyed his law (Rom 5:12). The sons of God and the sons of men were intermarried, and in the city of Sodom, people even tried to engage in sexual activity with angels (Gen.1:6-8; 19:1-38). Man’s thinking was influenced by sin that God disapproved of, severely undermining God’s original plan for him. Paul made this very plain in the book of Romans as well. “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error”, (Romans 1:26-27).

Same-sex partnerships are not how God originally intended them to be. The Bible declares that God despises them and that they disapprove of them. True, Sodom and Gomorrah suffered punishment for their sexual wickedness, and book of Leviticus truely outlaws relationships between people of the same sex. “‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” (18:22). “If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.” (20:13).

God does not support same-sex relationships. The law of God must be known to them as well. They must also comprehend that having such a desire does not indicate that they are a worse sinner than others, but rather that they are experiencing the effects of sin. It’s also a good idea to teach them that any sort of sin may be forgiven since God loves and forgives everyone who comes to Him. I’d want to briefly discuss my experience providing counselling to same-sex partners. These people come from a variety of backgrounds; some are well educated while others are not. Some people are able to hear everything we have to say, while others find it difficult to do so.

I once received a visit from a self-employed medical professional. He claimed that his inner love and yearning for same-sex experiences were gifts from God, and that he was unaware of his transgression. He was quite sophisticated in how he justified his actions and I believe he sought my approval. He stated that same-sex orientation is also supported by science education and that it results from an unavoidable genetic element. In truth, there is no compelling scientific evidence that there is a homosexual gene.

Although homosexuals have a genetic propensity, human choice is still a factor. Thieves are made by their environment, culture, and decision, and homosexuals are made by the same reasons. The world is home to numerous individuals who can engage in sexual activity with their partners without experiencing any physical difficulty. They are particularly prevalent among the wealthy and famous. Well-educated people of the same sex occasionally need to discuss their situation, therefore in addition to the Bible’s teachings, we should read scholarly works regarding human sex, especially those written by Christian academics with backgrounds in science. But it’s crucial to keep in mind that all of our decisions and viewpoints should be informed by the Bible. The medical expert who visited me made every effort to defend himself, but after a few sessions, I was able to show him for what he really was in the context of God’s Word, and he eventually left.
When someone comes to us with an issue, it is crucial that we first pay close attention to what that problem is. Although we can’t cure everyone’s problems, counsellors may be a

big help if we listen carefully. Ones who think they are infallible and have all the answers are frequently mistaken. We shall inform them of the truth found in God’s Word and exhort them to submit to Him. It is ultimately up to them whether or not they obey.

Counselors frequently feel, based on their own experiences, that they can swiftly and easily address their clients’ problems. Because everyone is in a unique position, it’s important to carefully analyse their problems before acting to resolve them as swiftly as possible through passionate prayer. It is essential that we study the Bible in its entirety because our goal is to be transformed by the truth of God. We can help those who struggle with same-sex issues if we behave in this way.
